On Saturday, October 7, the Black & White installment of the New York Latin American Art Triennial organization 4x6 fundraising exhibit series will open on Governors Island here in NY. Once I learned that the open call was open to all artists (I’m not Latin American, obviously) I submitted three pieces that I felt fit the theme of “select monochrome photography, and artworks containing tonal scales of gray…”
All 3 pieces will be in the exhibit - images from San Francisco, Paris and my tattoo portrait series.
According to NYLAAT, “this exhibition also intends to recall the aesthetic-artistic trends that arose from the 50s and 60s, in which color has a primary function in conveying or reinforcing messages and meanings, aimed at arousing emotional reactions on the part of the observer.”
NYLAAT-PTM Contemporary’s Project Space located at 405-B Colonels Row, Governors Island
Opening Reception: October 7th from 2-5 PM
The exhibit runs from October 7 the 31st
