Going live on February 15, Black Joy opens at The KUBE Gallery and will run from 6 weeks through March 29, 2021, in conjunction with Black History Month (February, USA) and Women’s History Month (March, USA). The show is curated by Polly Irungu, the founder of Black Women Photographers.
Abigail Ekue Photography has work featured in the exhibit along with 15 other artists. The online exhibit showcases talented, Black female photographers whose work draw on and share the joy within Black communities.
“This exhibition is focused on the theme of Black Joy because in 2020 all we saw were moments of black pain and trauma,” says Polly Irungu. “It is my hope that these selected works which embody Black Joy bring some moments of light into your life today, tomorrow and in the future.”
